Ultramarine Violet (Red Shade) is a the product of late 19th century innovation. Sodium aluminum sulfosilicate (better known as Ultramarine Blue), has been transformed under intense heat into this incredibly enduring pigment. Ultramarine Violet (Red Shade) is a deep, red leaning violet, with an earthy character. Use as mixing compliment to create more natural colours than Dioxane Violet, or apply as glaze to bring outs its subtle red leaning undertone.
